80s classics

I am not an 80s baby but I was a Toddler during the time. Music has always been influence but all that change when MTV broadcast on cable. MTV or Music Television was a cable that only showed music videos (it has evolved now with reality shows and game shows) and became a staple in children and teenager demographic. The music was fun but the events are what were influential. Michael Jackson first appearance, Headbangers ball, Yo MTV Raps, MTV News, etc. These shows became the evolution of MTV's longevity. But Kids only cared about the music videos. So here are some 80s classics in audio form:
I appreciate that you didn't oversimplify things while still keeping it readable. A few of these ideas are things I'd half-figured out but never put into words this cleanly.
